The Correct Way to Disassemble Quick-Disconnect Fittings

Sep 09, 2025

Quick-disconnect fittings should not be forcibly disassembled. We tried various methods but failed, but in the hands of a professional, we disassembled them in less than 10 seconds. The reason for this is the copper sleeve of the quick-disconnect fitting. Using specialized calipers to expand the two small holes allows the fitting to be easily removed, and the entire process takes less than three seconds. So, how do you disassemble the gas line of this quick-disconnect fitting? You'll need a specialized disassembly tool designed specifically for quick-disconnect fittings.

After installing the specialized disassembly tool near the gas line fitting, push firmly toward the fitting, then manually pull on the gas line to easily remove it. Without using a tool, brute force alone will not remove the quick-disconnect fitting, even if it damages it.

The correct way to disassemble a quick-disconnect fitting is determined by the characteristics of stainless steel quick-disconnect fittings.
1. Simple structure, excellent workability, and reliable sealing performance.
2. Convenient use, repeated disassembly and reassembly, and cost-saving reuse.
3. High compatibility and 360-degree rotation, allowing for flexible installation even in confined spaces.

4. Ensures smooth airflow and eliminates vibration. (Traditional metal joints have weak vibration resistance. The continuous vibration caused by vehicle movement can cause the air path to loosen, leading to a series of safety hazards such as insufficient air pressure.)
5. Lightweight, low cost, strong corrosion resistance, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 120°C.

Stainless steel quick connectors designed for a reliable seal cannot be easily disassembled by hand and require specialized tools.
