1. Main role in industrial production
Metal packing glands play a very important role in industrial production. First, it can prevent the packing bed from loosening or jumping. In the packed tower in chemical production, when there is an upward airflow, if there is no packing gland, the packing layer may loosen or jump. The metal packing gland is located above the packing layer. It can keep the packing bed as a constant fixed bed during operation when the gas velocity (high pressure drop) and the load suddenly fluctuate, thereby maintaining a uniform and consistent gap structure and making the operation normal and stable. For example, in the fractionation tower of a large oil refinery, if the packing layer is loose, it will affect the contact area and reaction efficiency between the gas and liquid phases, and then affect the fractionation effect. The use of metal packing glands can effectively avoid this situation.


2. Specific application cases in different fields
Oil refining field: In the crude oil distillation tower of the refinery, a large amount of oil products are separated and purified. After heating, crude oil is in gas-liquid contact with various packings in the tower. The metal packing gland can ensure the stability of the packing layer, so that the gas-liquid mass transfer process can be carried out efficiently and the separation efficiency of oil products can be improved.


Chemical industry: Taking the absorption tower in synthetic ammonia production as an example, the absorption tower uses the packing to increase the gas-liquid contact area and promote the absorption process of impurities such as nitrogen oxides. The metal packing gland can prevent the instability of the packing layer due to unstable airflow or changes in absorption load during the absorption reaction, thereby ensuring the absorption efficiency and ensuring the smooth progress of the synthetic ammonia production process.


Ethylene production: In the separation tower of the ethylene cracking unit, the metal packing gland can keep the packing layer stable and ensure that ethylene and other components can be separated accurately and efficiently, which is of great significance to the increase of ethylene production and purity.
